Former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, believes that his party holds the key to solving the current economic crisis in the country. During a visit to La-Bawaleshie and Mempeasem in the Ayawaso West Constituency, Mahama called on the NPP government to focus on improving the economy rather than making empty promises.
He pointed out the dire situation the country is facing, with high levels of unemployment and poverty. Mahama proposed the National Apprenticeship Program as a solution to provide skills to the youth and help alleviate the crisis.
Mahama criticized the government for seeking more taxes while failing to compensate the victims of the Ayawaso shooting incident in 2019. He emphasized the importance of experience in leadership, likening the choice between the NDC and NPP to choosing between an experienced driver and an inexperienced one.
